Labor Pains in the Last Months
The last trimester of pregnancy is usually hard for most women as they face labor pains. It is the last trimester of having a baby in the womb. But it can be hard most of the time. The baby grows in size and gains weight. It tries to move in his small world.
Moreover, the baby tries to push himself out of the body. As a result, women feel pains in the abdomen, lower abdomen, back, etc. These pains are called labor pains.
Causes of labor pains
The body starts getting ready to deliver the baby. Different organs of a women’s body start either contracting or sliding aside. The uterus begins to contract in the last trimester. Due to this contraction of the uterus, women start feeling labor pains. These pains get harder with time. They can be more severe than the pain of broken bones.
Not only this, but there is pressure on several lower organs. There is a lot of pressure on the Cervix; this pressure also causes labor pains. The organs and muscles contract and stretch even faster in the last three months. As a result, women feel pain in their bodies.
Areas of labor pains
The pain may regulate. But there are specific areas where women feel the most pain in the last stages of pregnancy. Women feel intense cramps in the abdomen. Not only this, but they also feel pain in the thighs, back, and lower parts of the body.
The pains are usually in the same areas where you feel during menstrual cycles. Women who are having pain in their lower back during periods often feel labor pains right over there. Some women suffer from thigh pain during the monthly cycle; they face the labor pains right there. But it may vary depending on the pregnancy and other complications.
Signs of labor
Labor is the time when your body gives you a signal that you are about to deliver a baby. Sometimes the labor pain starts very early in the 8th month, but in most cases, it begins in the 9th month. Even some women do not face labor pains until the last day. Some women get labor just before some hours of the delivery.
Few signs will tell you that you are about to deliver a baby, and your baby is ready to come out. There are several phases in labor. Lets’ discuss those before anything else.
It is the very initial phase of labor. In this phase, the cervix wall becomes thinner. And it starts opening a bit. Your baby will come out from the opening of the cervix. In this phase, you will feel like you are about to deliver a baby. But sometimes it is too early. Your baby is not completely ready yet.
The next thing you will feel is contractions. The vagina starts to contract and relax several times. You will feel labor pains in this part. They can be mild and can be severe. Some contractions are painless, and you will only feel something contracting in your body. These pains are called Braxton Hicks.
But as the time of delivery comes near, you will start having mild to severe labor pains. These contractions occur because your inner body parts are pushing the baby down. And at this stage, your womb starts to open.
Just before the delivery, you will feel mucus coming out of your vagina. It is the sign that you are about to deliver a baby. At this time, you will be having frequent labor pains. These labor pains among the mucus are the signs that there is less time left.
After the mucus comes out, the labor pains become more severe. And your water bag will break. A water bag is a thing in which your baby is alive. The major sign that your water back has been broken is that you will urinate frequently. It feels like you are having urine-filled in your urethra. But it is the water bag.
Suppose you are not in the hospital or not with your maid. Then urgently do something. As if you will not deliver the baby on time, then your baby can even die. Rush for the hospital, so doctors operate as soon as possible. If you feel frequent urination and your pee does not stop, do an emergency call. It is not your urine, but it is the water bag that is getting empty.
In some cases, the water bag breaks, but there are no labor pains. It is due to the fewer movements of the baby, or your baby is weak. But it does not mean that you are not ready to deliver the baby. Reach the hospital as soon as the water bag breaks. It is the last sign that you are about to deliver the baby.
Sometimes it takes 24 hours after the leakage of the water bag. The inductions are given to your body too. But sometimes, your baby is in critical condition. So you are provided the suitable temperature and artificial labor pains. These artificial labor pains and temperature measures help in the contraction of muscles and the cervix’s opening. If nothing happens still, then your baby is delivered by C section. But it happens in rare cases only.
